Queen! is a 15-minute poetic-expository documentary investigating the drag queen culture within the South African context, based on men and non-binaries who have performed drag in and outside apartheid. It is a celebration of the drag queen community, and recognition of dragging as a liable culture, artform and profession. Made during level 5 lockdown the documentary shows the lifestyle of drag queens outside and in the profession, the processes they go through to entertain, and their struggles with societal misconceptions and prejudice.
