Dr Valmont Layne is a scholar, musician and activist, and currently a Researcher and Programme Director for research archives at the Centre for Humanities Research at the University of the Western Cape. His professional experience includes leadership roles at university, arts festival, and museum institutions including the District Six Museum, Arterial Network, the University of Cape Town and the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK)
