Jayson Jay King started out as a promoter in his early teens and was the pioneer of jazz and contemporary music productions in South Africa, but then under the Apartheid Laws he was forbidden to apply his entrepreneurial skills in White South Africa, which placed him with dis-enfranchised peoples of colour.
